VBAC Twin Homebirth

I - Florence- cried when I watched this VBAC twin homebirth video. It hit so close to home for me. I have had two twin homebirths and I know it is not an easy decision nor one which is readily supported. This mama - and her husband - showed much courage and trust.

This mama expressed that she wanted God to be glorified through her pregnancy, birth and video. Well, in my opinion, He indeed was glorified.

I am also thankful that there are midwives out there who are willing to support women in their birthing choices. Women who are truly willing to be with-women and who do what is right rather than do what is socially acceptable.

Some mamas do not want to birth in a hospital and those moms are as deserving of qualified birth attendants than the women who choose to birth in a hospital. This is not about place of birth, nor should it be about politics - although make no mistakes it is - but rather this is about moms and babies. All mothers have the right to pick the place - and attendants - for their birth. Sadly because of laws - which in my opinion are not made to protect moms and babies but rather a profession - many moms have no choices. I am thankful for courageous women...moms and midwives alike who follow their convinctions, especially when these convictions come with much opposition. It takes guts - and faith - to do that...
