In the U.S., most of the medical community has put so much fear in women that many just choose to have planned c-sections and avoid the whole "ordeal" of childbirth altogether!

A C-section is major abdominal surgery and as such carries inherent risks - to you and to your baby - which are not part of a vaginal birth.

It is NOT a "walk in a park" nor is it a "risk free surgery." Neither should it be a replacement for a natural process which has been proven to work perfectly well over 97% of the time.

In the U.S., over 50% of twins are born by c-section.

Now...

...C-sections for twins have never been proven to be safer nor to produce better outcomes.

It is our personal belief that doctors should never perform an elective - chosen - c-section for it goes against their vow of FIRST DO NO HARM. They do know that the risks of complications and death are higher - for both mother and babies. C-sections - unless medically necessary to save the life of mother or baby - should never be done.

This last statement is not our opinion but a well researched and documented fact. As a matter of fact, the latest research shows that - in the U.S. - for the first time in decades the maternal mortality rate is rising thanks to the abuses of c-sections.

Let's spend the wasted money we squander on elective - unnecessary - c-sections on educating women instead. Please!

VBAC stands for Vaginal Birth After C-section. In the US, the rate of VBACs has been declining as less and less doctors are willing to perform them.

For many women, once a c-section always a c-section is turning out to be very true.

The fear?

The very small risk of uterine rupture: which is almost nonexistent when a woman is left to labor and birth naturally. BUT a risk which is a very real when interventions - especially through drugs to augment or induce labor - are used.
