The True Pain
On December 23, 2008, I gave birth to my son. I was in labor for 7 hours before deciding to get an epidural.
The doctor that did the epidural was very rough. It felt like he was stabbing me with a needle. As soon as the needle went into my back, I felt like I had had a shock through my whole body. It made my leg jerk and my body shake for a moment.
The doctor told me not to do that, (like I did it on purpose or something), and said that I wouldn't want to be paralized from this.
The epidural worked for a couple of hours and then I started feeling a lot of pain on my left side.
After 13 hours of labor, my baby's stats started to drop and I ended up in an emergency c-section.
As I laid on the table while they prepped me, I could feel them "scratching" me on the left side. Then I could feel needle pricks.
My doctor ended up having to put me totally under in order to deliver my little boy. I had my baby at 9:30 pm, and I don't remember seeing him until 2:30 am.
We had to stay in the hospital an extra day, because my son's body temperature would not stay regulated.
Now, almost 17 months later, I suffer from severe nerve pain in my lower back. It is not just uncomfortable but very painful. I can't even pick up my son now.
I did have some back problem before my son's birth, but nothing like this.
