Induction
by: roadfamily6now

I would opt for the induction before a c-section.
I would do everything in my power to encourage baby to turn vertex. Try www.spinningbabies.com also look into Chiropractic care (webster technique) and acupuncture. Last resort would be an external version with your care provider.

C-sections are not without risk. They will impact you for the rest of your life. If you have a chance of having a vaginal birth,go for it!

Up to you
by: Anonymous

If you are choosing a date I *personally* would not make the decision until I get to the hospital. If your child is still transverse by the time you go to deliver, then you should go ahead and get a c-section since transverse delivery is dangerous. If the child has moved (and it still has time to) into a good position for safe delivery then pitocin, as many risks as it carries, is favorable over major abdominal surgery. Pitocin induction will always be my first resort instead of a c-section having gone through a c-section in the past. I also second the suggestion to get a 2nd opinion. It never hurts.

Ultimately the decision is up to you, but be aware if you choose a c-section your birthing options are going to be a lot more difficult in the future. VBAC supportive doctors and bans are getting worse and worse and I myself have had to fight doctors in order to birth my child the way nature intended.

Good luck with your decision and I hope you have a safe and healthy delivery and wee one.

Cholestasis in pregnancy
by: Natural Pregnancy Mentor - Florence

Jennifer,

Nobody can decide what you should do.

First, the fact that your baby is transverse does not mean she/he will remain that way.

You could request that your water not be broken even if they do pit.

A c-section has a lot of risks to it since it is major abnominal surgery, it also nowadays affect you changes of having a vaginal birth since more and more doctor shy away from VBACS.

What about maybe getting a second opinion??
