WOW!
by: Alisha - NPM

I think that if you do chose to have another baby definitly research and find a supportive attendant!!

There are numerous VBAC birthstories here on the website... maybe they will inspire you!?!

But if c-section is truly the only way for you to have a child... I think it is a small price to pay for the ultimate reward!!

Please do let us know what you decide!!

Have a great week!!!

Yes you CAN!

A vertical scar is more likely to rupture that a horizontal, but you CAN! The biggest hurdle that stands in your way is finding a supportive OB. I personally recommend that you expand your search to midwives and try to find one who will take you on.

Normally the UR rate ranges from anywhere between 0.2-0.7%, increased by pitocin and augmentation and interventions. Multiple c-sections also slightly increase the risk, but it's still rather low. A low vertical and a classic incision can be as high as 1-7% and 4-9%. Your risks from surgery still are higher than the 1-9% risk you take with vertical and classic incisions. It is up to you to decide if you want to take the risks with the VBAC, but if you decide to you DO have that option.

Vbac after rupture?
by: Natural Pregnancy Mentor - Florence

Wow...tough question!

I am so very sorry, the birth of your daughter was so dramatic.

First of all, I am not a doctor. It is my understand that a vertical cut makes it impossible to have a vbac. At the same time, the first c-section ever performed was a vertical cut and the woman went on to have more children vaginally....so all this to say, research and ask lots of questions.

Second, if you truly want more children and you must have a c-section. In your case, know that a planned c-section would be very different than an emergency c-section at 32 weeks.

No one can answer whether you should or shouldn't have more children.

As for me, who is at the end of my childbearing years, if the only way I could have a baby was to have a c-section...I probably would even though I hate hospitals and birth in hospitals...why? Because a child is eternal...

Please keep us updated!

Blessings to you!
