induction because of previous stillbirth?

I lost my daughter at birth due to a tight nuchal cord, meconium aspiration, & possibly an infection in my placenta (no way to know whether that happened before or after my water broke).

I'm now considered high risk & have to consult with a perinatologist this pregnancy. He recommended an induction to prevent the same thing from happening again. I cannot find any evidence that an induction would prevent these problems- only that it would INCREASE the likelihood of meconium being passed, as well as fetal distress & a host of other risks.

Is there any reason to believe induction would be beneficial in my situation?
