Homebirth Video

Birthing videos - as well as birth diaries - have a tendency to bring tears to my eyes. Home birth videos especially. As an observer, I have experienced hospital, birth center and home births. While all births are special and beautiful, homebirths touch me the most. A woman in her environment, free to be who she is, free to do want she wants, surrounded by the persons she chose is amazing. I think it is in those times that the strength and power of a woman is most evident. I have often wondered if this is the reason why so many fear natural birth...it is so powerful and women going through it exude beauty and strength like nothing else.

It is so much more than "I had no drugs"...and one can only understand this by having been privileged to have witnessed such an event. It is always such an honor to be invited to a birth...always. But to be invited to someone's home to witness their birth...it is extra special. At least, those are my feelings.

The woman in this video exudes strength beyond what I can imagine. You see when I have a baby, I don't care if no one shows up IF my husband is there. He is the one I most want there and for me, if he is there, all is well with the world. The birthing woman in this birthing video could not have her husband there...he is in the military and he was deployed at the time of birth. I can't even fathom that and not want to cry.

But enough said, enjoy this video and please remember those who serve in our military and yes, that includes their family members.
