The Art of Pregnancy: A Review

The author of "The Art of Pregnancy" - Eviane Coton - asked us to review her book. She was also kind enough to provide us with a copy.

A review by Alisha

Just looking at the book is very calming.

Broken into three sections, one for each trimester, it is very well organized.

There are so many neat facts and thoughts about what is going on with your growing baby.

Almost everything is covered - and in a timely fashion - so that your pregnancy and birth should flow smoothly!

I think this is a perfect gift for the mama-to-be!

PS: Alisha said she is going to buy a copy as a gift!

The Art of Pregnancy: A review by Florence

When I first opened the package I was happily surprised at the apricot toned cover which is so warm and inviting.

The rest of the book is colorful but not overwhelmingly so. The color choices are actually very nice and a nice change from the regular pastel toned diaries. This diary is also very geared toward the natural minded birth mama.

The diary is peppered with art from around the world - some I liked, some I did not. But that is not a deterrent since all forms of art are so subjective.

Overall, this diary is lovely and a wonderful way to:

  • Let your baby know what your life and your thoughts were while expecting him or her.
  • Journal your journey as a reminder for later.

  • Meet the Author of "The Art of Pregnancy"
    Eviane

We asked Eviane to tell us a bit about herself:

"I am a work at home mother, healer, artist, homesteader in Northern California.

I was deeply moved by the experience of pregnancy, birth and the amazing natural tools that help along the way.

"The Art of Pregnancy" was born of a desire to give women a tool to inspire and empower themselves with during pregnancy. There is a great deal of natural wisdom about child bearing passed down from woman to woman throughout history.

I wanted to share some of this natural wisdom because I feel some of it is getting lost in our modern world.

Also I enjoyed making and viewing art so much while I was pregnant, that I felt it was important for pregnant women to have an illuminated book filled with some of the world's most beautiful pregnancy paintings.

I am currently working on creating an Ecovillage with our surrounding neighbors and friends. I have a deep commitment to stewarding the earth and healing systems out of balance on our planet."
