An Unassisted Birth Diary

This is the movie of an unassisted birth.

Unassisted means exactly that...no one - no attendant: OBGYN or midwife - assisted.

To some this is crazy and borderline criminal.

To others it is a valid choice. Some women believe in birth and their bodies so much that it makes perfect sense for them to birth alone. Who is to say they are wrong? Birth does work!

No matter where you stand on the issue of unassisted birth, this woman educated herself and as a result she and her husband decided to birth their child at home without anyone else. She took her power back and the responsibility that comes with that. Kudos to her.

Some of the pictures in this video are breath-taking and I - Florence - had goose bumps watching them. It is a great video and a beautiful, empowering, bonding and healing birth.
