Thank you for your comments. I have become a strong believer that it is not what happens to us in life that matters, but the meaning we make of it.

The search for answers has lead me to lots of things that I would never have sort out had I not had too.

I have decided to make the meaning of the whole mess, that it has made me stronger. However I would not wish the problems I have had on anyone else.

Hello Stewart,
Funny but the date you came to realize your issues of non-bonding was July 23. My first child, a son, was born on that day in 1976. I am a former childbirth labor and delivery coach, lactation instructor and milk bank donor. I have always been of the opinion that the reason we are seeing so many bonding, learning and development problems in children/adults nowadays is due to medications during their birth as well as nutrition after. Unfortunately, we try to fix the problems after they have occurred rather than try to determine why they have happened in the first place. Makes ya think, doesn't it!

All I could say was "wow" as I read your story.

I am so very sorry for all those years of struggle and pray you can find some closure now that you have some answers.

THANK YOU for sharing your story! Maybe now others will think twice before they subject their babies to epidural drugs.
