Two roads diverged in a wood

I was born and raised in France, but have called the U.S. "home" since 1987. I am the mother of 10 children (7 boys, 2 girls, 8 by birth and 1 by adoption and I also have a baby girl in heaven). My first child was born in 1994 and the twins in 2007.
Until my first pregnancy, I never gave much thought to the whole issue of birthing and natural mothering. I assumed I would follow in my mother's footsteps: trust the doctor, gain 20 pounds, hospital, bottles, back to work in 6 weeks.

Being born and raised in San Diego, I never thought Arizona would be a place I would call home. But someone else had a different plan and I thank God that when He moved me to the desert - so far away from everything and everyone I knew - He paced me next to Florence.
Before moving to Arizona I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from San Diego State University and thought I was pretty well informed. After all, I learned about growth and development, diseases and disorders, and even nutrition. Little did I know this was only the tip of the iceberg, I only begun to obtain true knowledge after I became pregnant.
